Winter Storm Warning in effect for: Edmundston and Madawaska County

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Snow has developed over the southwestern half of New Brunswick early this morning and will spread to the remainder of the province this morning. The snow will become heavy at times today and as east to northeast winds steadily increase visibility will be frequently reduced in blowing snow. Over southern portions of the province snow is expected to mix with or change to ice pellets this afternoon. Snow will gradually taper to flurries over western sections of the province early this evening but will linger over eastern sections until late evening or after midnight.

Total snowfall amounts across the province are expected to range between 20 to 40 cm.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
