The patrollers of the Mont-Farlagne ski patrol are members of the Canadian Ski Patrol System (www.csps.ca).
Each year, all patrollers must be certified within the national guidelines established by the CSPS. The course includes 60 hours of first aid skills and scenarios. Also, each patroller has to follow a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation course including the use of medical oxygen.
On top of the first aid and CPR course, each member must be able to demonstrate good skiing or snowboarding skills, be able to bring down a loaded toboggan and follow local procedures for the scene approach.
More than 25 volunteers are on hand and ready to patrol the Mont-Farlagne ski hill.
With a new season on the horizon, we are presently looking for new volunteers who would be interested on taking part of our organization. Email Eric Marquis, patrol leader, at eric.marquis@montfarlagne.com for more information.
